I'm writing a Ten/Rose fic for Idiot's Lantern (2x07) and I'M STUCK!!!!!! Anyone HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! I'll post what I have so far under a cut.
The Doctor was confused, to say the least. He’d never felt these feelings before. He couldn’t understand why he almost growled at the Detective Investigator in 1953 London when they brought Rose in. He didn’t understand because he was in love.
1953 Police Station, London
He heard the door open and several pairs of feet shuffle in as someone said, “We found another one.” Turning to see a familiar pink skirt and shoes nearly made both hearts stop. He rushed over and pulled the blanket from her head, hoping against all hopes that she hadn’t been—that her face was still very much there, only to find his fears founded. He could only force “Rose.” past the lump in his throat. They had taken his Rose, and they would pay dearly, whoever they were. He grasped her shoulders just to have something of her to hold on to while he thought.
The DI Bishop asked the Doctor “Do you know her?”
The Doctor looked over his shoulder incredulous at the DI. “Know her? She...” He looked back at Rose, heartbroken and furious at the same time.
The Policeman interrupted his thoughts. “They found her in the street, apparently, over at Master Square, abandoned.” This made the Doctor even more infuriated than before.
“They did what?“, his sentence was nothing more than a low rumbling growl.
The DI could only respond with an “I'm sorry?”, angering the Doctor marginally more, though he forced a look of slight calm.
“They left her where?” He repeated the question, fighting to keep his look of calm.
“Just... in the street.” the DI replied, rather scared of the Doctor's reaction.
The Doctor was clearly losing his battle for calm when he said, “In the street. They left her in the street. They took her face and just chucked her out and left her in the street. And as a result, that makes things... simple. Very, very simple. Do you know why?”
“Because now, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this Earth that can stop me. Come on!” The Doctor shouted, running out the door.
As the Doctor thought back to his reaction to what happened, he realized that not only had it happened before in varying amounts, but that it was completely and entirely illogical!
in other news, it's December 9th and currently raining with a possible high of 32ºF. RAIN IN DECEMBER, and I'm listening to "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas." PSSH! Unless the singer's talking about Florida, this is NOT CHRISTMAS!
